Lady Mounties Mercy Rule Wellsboro Softball, 11-0
On Thursday, April 24 the Wellsboro Lady Hornets hosted North Penn-Liberty on the softball diamond. The Lady Mounties strong defense combined with a great round at-bat led to a mercy ruling over the Lady Hornets, giving the Lady Mounties the win, 11-0.
To start the scoring for the game Lady Mountie Addie Smith slammed a base hit bringing in Maddie Smith to start the snowball.
After two more defensive innings without a score on both sides the Lady Mounties got to work.
At the top of the fourth, after Maddie Smith brought Kameron Lightner home, Addie Smith was back at bat. Bases loaded, she slammed one short over left center for a triple, scoring Kaylee Graham, Addilyn Lehman and Maddie Smith.
After that the Mounties sealed the deal with solid defense and another 6 runs in the fifth inning. The Lady Hornets were unable to break through, falling to the Lady Mounties 11-0.
The Wellsboro Lady Hornets will be traveling to CV to face the Lady Indians on the 25th, and North Penn-Liberty Lady Mounties will be on the road on the 28th to Wyalusing.
