July 3rd is First Friday!

Each Wellsboro First Friday is a little different, but we always have plenty to do, hear, and see – and lots of First Friday shopping and dining deals. On July 3rd, we’ll have goats, puppies and dogs, (and maybe kittens), for kids of all ages to enjoy! There will also be free art, music, games and activities in downtown Wellsboro, starting at 5:00 PM. (Stay up-to-date on First Friday happenings through the Facebook page.)

The July 3rd Scavenger Hunt will have a BINGO theme. Play for free with a chance to win a great prize worth at least $100! Bingo cards available at all participating businesses.

Great music at the corner of Main and East Ave hosted by Pop’s Culture Shoppe. Come and hear singer/songwriter Jesse Gotschal (aka The Road Virus). He’s good and 90 % of his songs are all original material. You won’t be disappointed. Also at Pop’s come and see artist Joshua Crane demonstrate his art.

The Native Bagel will host local artist Suzan Richar who will be there to demonstrate and show her works.

The Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest will be in front of Stained Glass Reflections from 5 to 8 PM. Anyone can win one of four nice prizes provided by Peggy’s Candies and Gifts.

At Peggy’s Candies, check out the animal-related activities from the Animal Care Sanctuary. Laura Clarson will be there with some cool pooches to pet and more.

Across the street at Country Ski and Sports stop and give a listen to Caleb Rutherford. He’s 14 but he’s got his banjo breakdown’s DOWN!

Local artist and potter, Lyle Bush of Pine Cone Pottery will be displaying his work in front of the historic Penn Wells Hotel.

From My Shelf Books & Gifts added, “We are kicking off of the “Where’s Waldo in Wellsboro” into high gear for the entire month of July. People can get receive 20% off all Waldo books.”

Rosey Bloom and the Hula Hoop Club will be on the lawn by the outdoor stage at the Deane Center from 4-6. This is part of the Deane Little Bean program. Geared for children, this program is open to anyone of any age. Check it out!

At The Deane Center, History Comes Alive! $15 Adults, $10 Students. Abraham himself will be talking about “Lincoln’s Love for Pennsylvania”. Starts at 7 PM.

At Stained Glass Reflections, come hear Anne and Ciro LoPinto and Friends (Vernal Pool) play some great acoustic music.

It’s open house again at Garrison’s! AND Artist Kari Roslund will demonstrate and show her art in front of Garrison’s.

In My Shoes will have FREE face painting for kids plus all kids get a patriotic button! ALSO free red, white and blue treats. Stop by!

The Hamilton-Gibson decorated pianos will be out on the street for anyone to play! We always look forward to that. Come and play a tune!

The Fifth Season Join us at the Fifth Season from 5-8 pm. To celebrate Independence Day, we will be decorating and building patriotic pin wheels! Also refreshments will be served!

Dunham’s. Always good stuff for First Friday at Dunham’s Department Store. Free patriotic face painting for kids by the Wellsboro Art Club.
ALSO, Goodies for our Troops will be there with some fun crafts for kids. Goodies is looking for donations of travel size toothpaste, granola bars or even cash will be just dandy. All of this happening in front of the store.

At Cafe 1905 stop by and hear violinist Johanna Vogt. You won’t be disappointed.
