Hundreds Participate In Special Olympics
In today’s broadcast, our very own Home Page correspondent, Shawn Starks was an athlete in the annual Special Olympics last Friday, May 17, 2019. Shawn has been participating for seven years – two years as a cheerleader, and five years as an athlete. Every year, Shawn has been extremely dedicated to practicing, running, and preparing for his events. This year, Shawn participated in the 50m dash, 100m dash, softball toss, and long jump. His favorite event is the 100m dash because it makes him very fast, and he loves the feeling. Savana Baltzley was Shawn’s buddy, and she’s not only his buddy but also his best friend. Her favorite part of Special Olympics is seeing all the kids have fun.
The Home Page Staff would like to congratulate Shawn for being an incredible athlete! You’ve made us very proud.
