How Christ Turns Chaos Into Harmony
Living in a world with people with so many differences can often feel very difficult. You’ve probably been to a gathering before where you feel surrounded by nothing but chaotic noise. People talking over everyone else, nothing is getting done – everyone wants to be heard, and consequently…no one is.
Working and living in harmony can be difficult.
But the Apostle Paul, a follower of Jesus and author of many books in the Bible, shared these words from God to us:
Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.
– Colossians 3:13-15 (New Living Translation)
Think about music. Look at a simple song. You could have a high, sharp melody with a low and rhythmic baseline. On their own, each part sounds like it could be in its own unique world. But when a Master Composer steps on the stage, he can bring them together. Those sounds don’t find – they end up becoming a beautiful sound in perfect harmony.
This is exactly what Christ’s love does for us. As we see in the scripture above, Christ’s love is what binds things together in perfect harmony.
Christ’s love is the ultimate “master score.” It doesn’t make us identical copies or change our unique personalities. But it is the bond that holds us together so that we can work together in perfect harmony towards the same goal.
Remember this: we don’t have to be identical to be united. Christ’s love is what binds us together, despite our differences, to work in perfect harmony.
