The Wellsboro Hornets put on a commanding performance Tuesday afternoon, April 14th, as they hosted the Galeton Tigers at Packer Park, cruising to a 4–1 team victory.

Wellsboro set the tone early in singles play and never looked back. Luke Rothermel led the charge with a decisive straight-sets win over Corbin Basile, 6–2, 6–0. Mason Brill followed with an equally strong showing, shutting out Max Schloesel in the first set before closing it out 6–0, 6–2. RJ Doughtie completed the singles sweep for the Hornets, defeating Isaac Miller in straight sets, 6–0, 6–2.

Galeton’s lone bright spot came in doubles action, where David Martin and Trey Sykora battled to a hard-fought win over James Doughty and Gideon Lawton. The Tigers duo edged out a tight first set in a tiebreak, 7–6, before sealing the match 6–4.

The Hornets responded in the final doubles match, as Tavi Wyman and Stephen Poirier secured the overall victory with a 7–5, 6–1 win over Luke Knisely and Tanner Cizek.

With the win, Wellsboro claimed four of five matches on the day, showcasing depth and consistency across the lineup.

Both teams return to action on April 16th, with Wellsboro traveling to North Penn-Liberty, while Galeton looks to bounce back at home against Cowanesque Valley.
