Honoring Our Hometown Heroes: How You Can Join C&N’s Military Appreciation Campaign
November is Military Appreciation Month — a time to honor the men and women who serve our nation and the families who support them. This year, C&N is shining a special light on those heroes through its Hometown Heroes Campaign, part of the company’s long-running Giving Back, Giving Together initiative.
Now in its 10th year, the program has already raised over $850,000, donated more than 42,000 items, and contributed 1,600 volunteer hours to causes across local communities. The goal for 2025? To reach $1 million in donations, with every penny staying in local communities to directly support military families and veterans.
The centerpiece of this year’s campaign is a unique way to honor service members: digital banners. Much like the patriotic banners lining Main Streets across America, these online tributes will be shared on C&N’s social media platforms — a modern, heartfelt salute to hometown heroes.
Participating is simple. Just visit https://givebutter.com/hometown_hero
Upload a photo and share the name of your hero. You can create a banner with a donation of any amount or the suggested $10 donation, with all funds going directly to local military support organizations.
C&N currently partners with about 10 military organizations throughout its footprint, funding programs that make tangible differences — from home accessibility improvements for veterans to new resources for military families.
For Caitlin Hilliard, Senior Community Engagement Coordinator, who’s been part of the initiative from the start, the impact is deeply personal. “At first, it was just fun to do fundraisers,” she shared. “But when we saw the real difference being made — families moved to tears, lives made easier — it became so much more than that. It’s about truly making a difference.”
This November, you can help continue that difference. Join C&N’s Hometown Heroes Campaign, honor the heroes in your life, and help support those who’ve given so much to our nation.
