Home for the Holidays

by Amiee Jones - December 18, 2018

The annual “Home for the Holidays” event took place once again in Mansfield on Saturday, the 15th. The festive occasion consists of various activities and opportunities taking place all day long in different locations throughout town. With that being said, a tremendous amount of town cooperation and involvement took place to create a great schedule for this year’s “Home for the Holidays”!

The day started out with some local shops and vendors offering special deals on food and merchandise. Then, Santa dropped in at the Mansfield Free Public Library for breakfast at 11. Chamber Representative, Dawn Hull, stated that the turn out was great for this attraction, and the kids had a wonderful time. A 5k Run/Walk was also on the docket at 4:00pm. This experience is facilitated each year by Elite Therapy, and all participants receive t-shirts upon their time of registration. Also, the top male and female finishers receive prizes.

Later, the YMCA hosts a Christmas Party. This year was the second occurrence of this decidedly annual event, and attendance was fantastic. Among the activities available were a bounce house, craft stations, face paint, a magician’s live performance, various games, and pictures with Santa. Everything was provided for free to the public, and there were even refreshments, prizes, and books for the children to take home. The gymnasium was certainly buzzing with the excitement of the holidays, thanks to this Christmas Party, which was so considerately facilitated by the YMCA staff, with the help of their generous sponsors.

The schedule wrapped up with Trivia Night at Changos Cantina! The “Home for the Holidays” schedule was a jolly one, and certainly had something to offer for everyone! Another merry Christmas in Mansfield!
