History of the Civilian Conservation Corps
Last Saturday, August 30th, LeRoy Heritage Museum President Matt Carl gave a presentation to the community about the significance and history of the Civilian Conservation Corps camp in Laquin, Pennsylvania. He discussed the many unique ways in which the young men contributed to Bradford County and the important life skills they learned during their years at the CCC camp, and how those experiences ultimately prepared them for World War II. Carl’s initial interest in Laquin stemmed from a camping trip he took in that area at ten years old.
