Historic Train Car Donated to Alparon Park’s Heritage Village
The Foust family of Granville Summit donated their train car, “Cowley Line,” to the Heritage Village in Alparon Park on Monday, February 2nd. This generous donation will offer another piece of history to be displayed for generations to come. Libby Foust, one of the Cowley Line’s donors, stated that it was bittersweet to watch the car leave, but she knew that its new home at the Troy Fairgrounds is what her mother would have wanted. “We decided we would donate it to the park in honor of all the countless hours that my mom donated,” Foust stated. “It’s a real sad thing to see this leave… but my mom would want this, so today’s the day… we’re here to watch it take its final departure.”
The train car is set to be restored to its original state and displayed in the Heritage Village for all visitors to enjoy. For more information about the Troy Heritage Village and Farm Museum, visit https://theheritagevillage.org
