Helping Those In Need: Mansfield Food Pantry
Baby it’s cold outside, but the volunteers at the Mansfield Food Pantry are making sure all who need food are served! The Mansfield Food Pantry serves community members in the following townships, boroughs and municipalities: Arnot, Bloss, Blossburg, Covington, Hamilton, Jackson, Liberty, Mansfield, Mainesburg, Millerton, Morris, Morris Run, Ogdensburg, Richmond, Roseville, Rutland, Sullivan, Tioga, Union and Ward.
There are income guidelines to participate, and all that is required to sign up is a current proof of address. This can be a driver’s license, a bill with name and address, vehicle title, etc.
The pantry is located at the intersection of Benson Drive and Route 6, apx. 2 miles west of Mansfield. To receive food you never have to leave your car! Just drive in the driveway, give information to the folks doing the check-in, then drive up to the loading area and get your car loaded with food!
The Pantry is open the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month from 2:00 until 5:00. If weather is dangerous for the volunteers the local media will be contacted as soon as possible with any change in service. You can also check out Pantry updates on Facebook at Tioga County Friends of the Food Pantries.
Volunteers are always needed and welcome. If you’re interested in helping out, call or text Deb Bastian at 570-916-4647 or Chris Gilbert at 570-662-2200. Monetary donations are also welcome as the Pantry purchases food and has bills to pay every month. Checks can be made out to “Mansfield Area Food Pantry” and mailed to P.O. Box 5, Mansfield, PA 16933.
