Happy Mother’s Day Weekend!
On May 9, 1914, President Woodrow Wilson issued a presidential proclamation that officially establishes the first national Mother’s Day holiday to celebrate America’s mothers. He asked Americans on that day to give a public “thank you” to their mothers and all mothers.
In 2021 once again, Mother’s Day falls on May 9. It is a day to celebrate the love, and care mothers offer to their family and the world as they nurture their families.
This holiday allows us to reflect on our mothers’ love and care because mothers have been called the glue that holds the family together, although the glue sometimes is not appreciated. Let’s show appreciation for our moms this weekend!
Ask mom what she would enjoy doing for Mother’s Day and then put in the extra effort to make her feel loved and valued.
Would she enjoy dining out or receiving flowers or hiking or biking? Would she appreciate you doing the laundry or cleaning the bathroom?
Or she may need to hear how much you love her!
On today’s broadcast, you’ll find several members of our Home Page staff
honoring and thanking God for their mothers.
Happy Mother’s Day!
