Game Commission Night at Peppers Auction Barn
The Leroy Sportsman’s Association, in partnership with State Rep. Clint Owlett and the Pennsylvania Game Commission, recently hosted local sportsmen and -women at Peppers Auction Barn for a whitetail management event. The highlight of the night was a discussion on the population and habitat preferences of white-tailed deer. “There’s a little bit of something for everybody,” said Owlett about the event. “It’s a great educational opportunity.” “We love bringing our state agencies here to help our community understand what all our licenses contribute to and the work that they’re doing,” Owlett continued. Presentations were made by the Game Commission’s white-tailed deer biologist Maureen Staats and forester Chad Barclay. Along with learning about the state’s annual reports and whitetail management plan, local land owners were taught how to make their land more appealing to deer. The night concluded with a question-and-answer session. To learn more about the Leroy Sportsman’s Association, find “Leroy Sportsman’s Association” on Facebook.
