FOREVER HOMES NEEDED

FOREVER HOMES NEEDED

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - January 10, 2018

Second Chance Animal Sanctuaries opened their Heading Home Center in the fall of 2016. The center is located in Holliday, north of Middlebury Center on Gee Road. Since opening they have adopted over 400 cats and dogs into forever homes and have reunited over 75 lost dogs with their owners. Funded totally on donations and fundraisers, the shelter currently houses over 20 cats and 13 dogs as well as several dogs in foster homes.

Cinnamon is a super sweet, super lovable, super socialized little guy who is ready to find his forever home. He has been in our care since 3 weeks old, so he is used to EVERYTHING. All you have to do is look at him and he starts purring up a storm! Ginger loves to be held and does well with other cats, dogs, kids, strangers, and everything. We like our kittens to go to homes with other cats, kitten-friendly dogs, or a sibling so they aren’t bored. A bored kitten is a poorly behaved kitten! Cinnamon is up to date on vaccines, dewormed, flea treated, FIV/FeLV tested negative, and will be neutered, rabies vaccinated, and microchipped on 1/17 through us.

Pearl, affectionately known as Precious Pearl or Pearly Whirly, could be your new best friend for life. She is one of the most lovable and affectionate dogs we’ve ever met once she bonds with someone, so she’d make an amazing companion for a lonely person or family. She couldn’t care less about cats and although she has lived with a dog before, she doesn’t like to share her food or treats with them so would do best with a mellow, submissive dog or the only dog in the home. Since Pearl’s about 6, she still has plenty of “get up and go” without being a total nut or requiring 2 hours of exercise every day. She’s also good off leash (even unsupervised), so that’s a huge bonus! Pearl was removed from a hoarding situation, hence her initial shyness, but she still has buckets of love to give. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, flea treated, and microchipped!

There’s a whole LATTE of our big girl Chai to love! Poor Chai blends into the background so well that people tend not to notice her, which is why she has been with us for over a year and a half. But they should pay attention to her because she is just a ball (a very round ball) of love once she comes out of her shell. With all of the noise and chaos at the shelter, she tends to keep to herself, but one-on-one she shows her true colors. This girl is so happy for affection that just a pat on the head is enough to get her making biscuits and purring up a storm. All Chai needs is someone to give her a chance in a home! She’d make an excellent companion for someone who wants a couch potato kitty to watch TV with. Chai is spayed, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, FIV/FeLV tested, and flea treated!
