Golfers in the Northern Tier will soon have an opportunity to hit the links while supporting a local cause. Heart of Tioga is preparing for its 6th Annual Golf Tournament, scheduled for Monday, June 8th at the Tyoga Golf Course.

The tournament will feature a captain-and-crew format with a shotgun start beginning at 1 p.m. Organizers say participants can compete for a variety of prizes throughout the day, including awards for the top three teams, raffle drawings, and on-course competitions such as closest-to-the-pin and long drive contests for both men and women.

Registration for the event costs $100 per person or $400 per team. Participants may pay in advance by mail or during registration on the day of the event from noon until 12:45 p.m.

Following the tournament, golfers are invited to stay for a picnic dinner at the clubhouse, which is included with registration.

Heart of Tioga says the event also offers opportunities for community members and businesses to support the organization through hole sponsorships and other tournament sponsorships.

This tournament supports Heart of Tioga Pregnancy and Parenting Support center, which equips and empowers parents through life-affirming and compassionate counseling, medical services, education and essential resources. They offer pregnancy tests, pregnancy confirmation ultrasounds, parenting classes and baby and toddler materials, all for free to anyone dealing with pregnancy or parenting.
