Family Day Fair Fun for All!

by Sara Vogt, Morgan Koziar - August 12, 2016

Hello everyone and welcome to Wellsboro Home Page! Today we feature family day at the fair! Family Day provides families an opportunity to bond and enjoy the fair at an affordable rate with lots of learning opportunities, giveaways, unlimited rides, and fun! Correspondent, Morgan Koziar had the opportunity to speak with the Tioga County Fair Director, Samantha Wilson. Sam explained the importance of coming to our immense agricultural fair, and why the Tioga County Fair is so near and dear to her heart.

Kristine Worthington spoke with to one of her former students who is now a 4-H member, Katie Mingos. Now participating in her second year at 4-H camp, Katie has recently been involved in the Counselor Training Program at the camp. Katie enjoys the club because it provides her with fun experiences and venues to express herself.

Johanna Vogt caught up with a young fair-goer on his first bull riding experience. It’s no doubt that the ride was a wild one!

Home Page correspondent, Aimee Jones caught the real action of the fair…the food! Whether it’s covered in powdered sugar or smothered in nacho cheese, there is something to please everyone’s tastebuds! Maple milk shakes from the 4-H booth, and Grandma’s apple dumplings with cinnamon ice cream are just some of the many fair food favorites!

The Tioga County Fair celebrates its 50th anniversary! Along with celebrating a special milestone, the fair also commemorated married couples who met at the Tioga County Fair! Three ladies Christie Blackwell, Joyce Butler, and Jennifer Butler reflected on their first encounters with their spouses at the fair! Thank you for joining us! We hope you have enjoyed our team’s coverage this year at the Tioga County Fair! Remember, It’s all right here on Wellsboro Home Page.
