Enjoy “The Other White Meat” for National Tofu Day!
Today is National Tofu Day! National Tofu Day is celebrated on this day each year all over the world as one of the most versatile and nutritious foods on the planet!
National Tofu Day is an opportunity to try Tofu if you have not done it before!
Why Tofu? There are many health benefits to adding it to your weekly or daily meal planning.
Like animal meat, Tofu contains all nine essential amino acids your body can’t make alone. Tofu is also brimming with the following vitamins and minerals: Iron, Potassium, Manganese, Selenium, Phosphorus, Magnesium, Copper, Zinc, and Vitamin B. Several studies suggest that isoflavones in soy and soy protein make bones stronger by preventing bone loss, hence lowering the risk of osteoporosis. Many scientific studies indicate soy products may reduce your risk of cancer.
Since I went plant-based for my daily nutrition three years ago, I have used Tofu for many of my meal choices. Tofu has no specific taste, so whatever spices you add to it heightens the flavor to what you would like.
You can start your day with a tofu breakfast scramble! Visit this link for breakfast recipe ideas!
