by Chloe Quimby - December 9, 2017

On Friday, December 11 at 7:30p.m., Drowsy Maggie will perform in the Gallery at the Warehouse Theatre at 3 Central Avenue in Wellsboro. The performance is offered through the Deane Center’s Gallery Music Series.

Drowsy Maggie includes Daria Lin-Guelig on hammered dulcimer and concertina, Bruce Smith on bass, octave mandolin and guitar, and Carl Conn on fiddle, flute and Irish whistle. Joining them on stage will be Danny Shipe on guitar and David Cavage on banjo. The five performers will sing and play old time, blue grass, folk, country and Celtic tunes made famous by John Prine, Hank Williams Jr., the Stanley Brothers, Nancy Griffith, Utah Phillips and others. Among the selections are “Wagon Wheel,” “Paradise,” “Jambalaya,” “Handsome Molly” and “Drowsy Maggie.”

“The Gallery is an ideal venue to enjoy live music,” said Kevin Connelly, Deane Center executive director. “Every musician who has performed at the Gallery has told us that it is one of their favorites. It has a wonderful ambiance, outstanding sound quality and allows the audience to interact with the band. Everyone is seated at tables so they can relax, bring their own favorite snacks and beverages and enjoy the music.” Also available are freshly popped popcorn and bottled water. The Gallery is smoke-free.

Admission is by donation. For reservations or more information, call the Deane Center at (570) 724-6220.
