Culinary Boot Camps Empower Local Food Service Staff
The Northern Pennsylvania Regional College and The Fund For Northern Tier Development have joined forces to revolutionize the regional food industry and elevate the skills of local food service staff through their innovative Culinary Boot Camps.
This hands-on pioneering program has become a game changer for local restaurants, hospitals, schools, nursing homes, churches, and other regional institutions that provide meals. Starting with essential training at Level 1, this free program is empowering current and future employees with the expertise they need for ServSafe Certification, operating modern kitchen equipment, teamwork, timing, food preparation, and plating. As participants advance to Level 2, they delve into an array of cooking and baking techniques that transform even the most familiar dishes into extraordinary culinary masterpieces.
The success of these classes is made possible through the invaluable partnership and scholarships provided by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Community and Economic Assistance Program, Keck’s Food Service, Charles Knox & Margaret Etner Foundation, and the Ernest L. Sweet and Mildred Roberts Sweet Foundation.
A vibrant food scene leads to a thriving community!
