The 84th annual Pennsylvania State Laurel Festival brought another week of tradition, celebration and community spirit to Wellsboro last week, as residents and visitors gathered to honor Pennsylvania’s state flower, the mountain laurel.

The week-long festival featured a wide variety of events for all ages, including concerts, a pet parade, a children’s health fair, foot races and the popular juried arts and crafts fair with an international street of foods.

First held in 1938, the festival once again showcased the small-town charm and hospitality that have made it a beloved tradition for generations.

The festival’s biggest events took place over the weekend, drawing large crowds to downtown Wellsboro. Saturday’s Laurel Festival Parade filled Main Street with marching bands, floats, fire trucks and community organizations from across Pennsylvania and neighboring New York.

The celebration culminated Saturday evening with the coronation of the 2026 Pennsylvania State Laurel Queen, as contestants from high schools across the state competed for the crown.
