Creature Care – Grieving a Pet
The human/animal bond is a connection we as humans are blessed to be able to enjoy. It is a stewardship responsibility bestowed on us by our Creator. Our pets, animal companions, bring us many blessings. Caring for our pets at the end of their lives brings special challenges as we endeavor to deal with the animal’s needs for comfort, quality of life, and pain control. Companion animal owners and family members need to negotiate their individual feelings, emotions, and grief that pet loss brings.
Embrace this special time in your life and pet, companion animal, relationship. Give yourself permission to grieve the loss and by all means cherish the memories.
Respectfully,
