Community Unites in Support of Roof Family
After over two hours under cold water, 8-year-old Caleb Roof miraculously survived and is steadily recovering every day. This past Sunday, the Moose 429 Lodge hosted a benefit dinner and basket raffle that received an incredible response from the community. The entire room was packed and bustling with love and support for Caleb and his family.
“We have not lived in this community very long,” says Caleb’s mother Courtney, “and it is absolutely overwhelmingly amazing to see how completely and endearingly they have adopted not only him but all of us and and showed up and showed out.”
As guests entered, donations were collected at the door for a delicious chicken and biscuit dinner and a variety of homemade dessert choices. Raffle tickets could also be purchased to try and win baskets full of exciting prizes for all ages.
The Roof family and the Home Page Network would like to give a heartfelt thank you to all of those who volunteered their time to help serve dinners, sell tickets, and sell shirts to help the Roof family. Those who purchased Miracle of Caleb t-shirts are encouraged to participate in “Miracle Mondays,” in which they wear their shirt in support of Caleb with hopes to bring him home and show him all the love and support he’s received from the community.
