Coming Together For Ashley

by John Vogt - March 24, 2014

This past Friday night at the Deane Center our community was rocking out for Ashley. Sixteen-year-old Ashley Johns was seriously injured in a car accident back on February 1st. The benefit concert for Ashley Johns and her family was a wonderful success and raised $1,800, bringing the total donations so far to almost $11,000. These funds will be used to help cover medical and rehabilitation expenses. The community would like to thank Kelly Stemcosky – the one who created this event and has worked tirelessly to help Ashley and her family during this time of great challenge.

Ashley’s brother, Brandon Lusk, along with Brothers Callahan performed to a near capacity crowd of Ashley supporters. The concert began with a word from Ashley’s mom, Kim Johns. Kim gave a brief update on her daughter’s condition followed by a heart-felt “thank you” to our community for our prayers and continued support.

Wellsboro Home Page was able to speak with a number of Ashley supporters. You can see a sample of their comments in today’s feature story. All the comments will be edited and sent to Ashley at the Susquehanna Health Rehab Center to encourage her heart during this time of healing.

If you were not able to attend Ashley’s benefit concert, you can still contribute at gofundme.com/HelpAshleyHeal. We also encourage you and your family to send Ashley a card or letter – (everyone knows the best cards come from kids!) It will mean so much to her during her time in rehabilitation.

Her mailing address is:
