Come Hear the Autumn Chorale!
The Hamilton-Gibson community choirs are celebrating their 20th season this year! Choral directors Thomas Putnam and Katherine Brennan recently took time out of their latest rehearsal to give us the scoop on the pieces the choirs will be performing at concerts and the “67-County Initiative” tour.
Every year, Hamilton Gibson creates a new theme for itself. This year, in celebration of the 20th season, all pieces being performed will be songs that have already been sung by the choirs. The upcoming Autumn Chorale performance this month features songs that reflect on years passed and the good times had by the choir and directors alike.
The “67-County Initiative” tour, as explained by Thomas Putnam in the featured video, is a tour taken by the choirs during the spring season. The state of Pennsylvania has 67 counties, and Hamilton-Gibson has set a goal to sing in all of them! By the end of this year, that goal will have been accomplished. The tour lasts four days and ends with a grand concert at the state capital, Harrisburg.
The Autumn Chorale concert is approaching quickly! The performance features the young men’s ensemble, the young women’s ensemble, the children’s concert choir, and Choir Too. Come watch the Hamilton-Gibson choirs perform this Sunday, October 12th at 2:30 pm! The concert will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Pearl Street in Wellsboro.
