Coaches Corner – Cooper Kitchen
In small school districts like Canton, sports teams need most of their athletes to participate in order to keep their teams competitive and afloat. Therefore, many athletes participate in multiple sports throughout the school year. Cooper Kitchen is one of those athletes. He has had important roles in the sports of football, basketball and now baseball.
Cooper has lettered in all sports since his freshman year. He was not always a starter, but his skills allowed him to help his team during key situations through his early years. As a senior this year he started at quarterback in football and helped lead his team to a 13-1 record and a trip to the state semis. In basketball he played point guard and helped lead his team to the most wins (18) in decades. With games now starting in baseball he is helping his team from the field, the mound and at the plate.
Craig Route from Coaches Corner sat down with Cooper to discuss the skills he has gained through sports as well as what he enjoyed most about playing. They also discuss the challenges of being the son of a coach. Watch the video provided to listen in on their conversation.
