C&N Donates $150,000 to Benefit Local Education

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - May 2, 2019

WELLSBORO, PA – Citizens & Northern Bank recognized the importance of investing in local education with $150,000 in donations to area Educational Improvement and Scholarship Organizations.

Education is key to a strong and prosperous community. However, there are many roadblocks preventing children from receiving the level of education they deserve. Citizens & Northern Bank is committed to closing this gap by supporting local organizations that have made it their mission to make sure every child has access to the best education possible. By investing in our youth, we are putting our local economies on the path to sustained growth and giving our children more opportunities to thrive.

The following organizations were presented with checks to support their mission for providing strong educational programs:

First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania – $77,500 allocated towards eighteen school districts:

  • Athens Area
  • Austin Area
  • Cameron County Area
  • Coudersport Area
  • East Lycoming Area
  • Galeton Area
  • Jersey Shore Area
  • Loyalsock Area
  • Montgomery Area
  • Montoursville Area
  • Muncy Area
  • Port Allegany Area
  • Sayre Area
  • South Williamsport Area
  • Sullivan County Area
  • Troy Area
  • Warrior Run Area
  • Williamsport Area

Bradford County Regional Arts Council – $7,500

Towanda Area School District Foundation – $7,500

Tioga County Foundation – $19,500 allocated towards three school districts:

  • Wellsboro Area
  • Southern Tioga Area
  • Northern Tioga Area

Pennsylvania College of Technology Foundation – $500

Diocese of Scranton Scholarship Foundation – $22,500 allocated towards three school districts:

  • Epiphany (Sayre)
  • Saint Agnes (Towanda)
  • St. John Neumann Regional Academy (Williamsport)

General Council of Assemblies of God – $7,500

Trinity Lutheran Church and School – $7,500
