Cinnamon Blossoms of Purpose

by Home Page Staff - March 13, 2018

Peggy’s Candies & Gifts has been a popular shopping location for sweet treats since it opened in 1987. But their recent expansion, Peggy’s Bake Shoppe (neighboring the candy store) began just this past December – and it’s already a town favorite. But there’s more to this bakery than how delicious their sweet treats are – today’s feature highlights one of their signature items, why they make it, and where the proceeds go.

These special pastries are their cinnamon blossoms! “They’re in honor of my Nani,” says baker, Heather Geer. “She was my great aunt. When she died, she made it very clear she did not want a funeral. We make these in her honor and all the proceeds go to the Homeless Initiative of Tioga County. It was something she was very passionate about, so we make sure we honor her in that way.”

Be sure to watch the video to see how these amazing blossoms are made! Stop in to Peggy’s Bake Shoppe today to enjoy one for yourself.
