Church of Christ Holding Many Community Events

by Jodi Wesneski / Andrew Moore - October 21, 2022

CANTON – The Church of Christ in Canton will be holding a number of community events in November that the public is invited to attend.

The Mission & Evangelism team from the Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) in Canton invites you to experience a night to remember on Saturday, November 5, 2022. You will enjoy an evening filled with fellowship, live music, snacks, and dancing in your seat or on the dance floor. The 1950s was a decade that made music history, for the most part, due to the popularity of the American Bandstand. You can now experience a little piece of that history by attending Turn Back the Clock Sock Hop and listening to our local band, “The Sock Hoppers.” A night of nostalgia and making memories that will last forever is happening in small-town Canton, Pennsylvania.

Advanced purchased tickets are required and are available for purchase at MC/Gannon Associates Insurance (Troy), the church office, or by calling Jodi Wesneski at 570-506-0064. Tickets are limited to just 100, so please do not wait. Reservations will be accepted for groups of six or more.

Your donation of just $20 per person will not only include all the fun listed above, but you will also be helping with the fundraising efforts of the handicap access project. “We hope to make the fellowship hall a place everyone can enjoy,” states Sock Hop co-chairperson Jodi Wesneski.

In addition to the Sock Hop, the Church of Christ is also inviting the surrounding community to two upcoming free dinners.

The first dinner is on Thursday, November 10, 2022. In partnership with Energy Transfer, hosted at Church of Christ, attendees can eat in or take out, beginning at 4:30pm and until food is gone. The meal will included baked ziti, coleslaw, rolls and other baked goods.

The second dinner will take place on Black Friday, also in partnership with Energy Transfer. This meal will include soups including chicken & rice, vegetable beef, and chili. Eat in and take out will also be available at this event.
