Chamber Highlights – Late Summer Events!

by Home Page Staff - July 14, 2016

Welcome to another edition of Chamber Highlights with Marsha Chesko. We’ve had a wonderful summer so far, and it’s still plenty left! Why not spend it hiking through the beautiful countryside, or canoeing on one of our area lakes, or maybe take a covered wagon ride through the canyon? There’s always something fun to do outside, and music is everywhere! Come and play the pianos located on Main Street in Wellsboro. These old pianos have been donated and hand-painted by members of the community.

The Endless Mountain Music Festival begins on July 22nd in Steadman Theatre at Mansfield University. The theme for the evening is titled – Heroes and Villains!

You can also enjoy music outdoors on The Green on Wednesday, July 27th by the “Almost World Famous” Wellsboro Town Band! Bring a lawn chair or blanket and relax and be serenaded by these talented musicians directed by Dr. Adam Brennan.

On July 30th come down to Main and Crafton streets for the Wellsboro Classic Car Cruise-In from 12:00 to 3:00 PM. Admire and assortment of classic cars with ambiance provided local stations playing 50’s and 60′ music.

The much beloved First Friday is coming soon! Come downtown on August 5th and enjoy the various sales, concerts, scavenger hunt, and activities by area businesses in Wellsboro.

History Comes Alive…in the Deane Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, August 5th. Author and storyteller Regi Carpenter will be presenting “Love is War: A WWII Story” in the Coolidge Theatre at 7:30 PM. Learn more at the Deane Center website.

The annual Tioga County Fair returns, August 8th through the 13th. There’s plenty to do and see, including tractor pulls, animal shows, delicious food, concerts, amusement park rides and more! You can also meet the PA State Fair Queen, Darby Kasper – and the 2015 Tioga County Fair Queen, Morgan Koziar. Find out more here!

Support the Sue Cunningham Memorial Music Scholarship by attending Hickory Fest, August 19th to the 21st at the Stony Fork Campgrounds. Enjoy the many acoustic and bluegrass bands that will be playing at this energetic event! You can find more information at their website here.

There are even MORE amazing events coming later this September – watch today’s video feature to find out more!
