Celebrating Life Community Festival to Be Held in Canton
As our lives become more normalized again, Canton, specifically the Church of Christ Disciples of Christ, Mission & Evangelism committee, is excited to invite you to spend an afternoon celebrating the life we have all been given. The event will take place on Saturday, September 24, from Noon – 4:00 pm at 170 N. Minnequa Ave., Canton.
Everyone’s circumstances vary. However, one thing we all have in common is the ability to celebrate our life, the joys and struggles that have led us to be who we are and where we are today.
Connecting and reflecting on the fact that we are not alone is the primary motive for the event. To assist in this mission, we are lucky to have organizations participating that may provide information to help those needing a helping hand will be on hand. They include Bradford County Drug & Alcohol and Mental Health Services, The Gideons International, The Canton Food Pantry, the Prayer Shawl Group, and New Beginnings.
The afternoon will be filled with entertainment, on the Cummings Lumber stage, with performances every forty minutes by six different acts. Performers include Gideon Lapitan, Randy Frye, Keith Dewey, The Williamsport Christ Community Worship Center Praise Team, Joyful Warrior Fitness, and the Church of Christ (DOC) Quartet and Praise Team.
The fun doesn’t stop there; who can resist a balloon animal created by Deanna May, along with several children’s games and face painting? We know you will be hungry, and we will have something for every appetite. St. Michael’s Knights of Columbus members and the Church of Christ will sell delicious food and beverages. The street will be blocked off, and a shuttle can offer rides from the parking lot to the event area.
Our mission is to bring others together, putting God first while supporting each other in living our best life. There is no need to be fearful or think that you are alone. We hope that you will join us on this exciting, fun-filled day. For more information, call 570-673-5796.
