Canton Wrestling takes down North-Penn Liberty, 38-30

On Tuesday, December 17th the Canton Warriors wrestling team hosted the North Penn-Liberty Mounties.

To start the night, weighing in at 215, Leland Pepper pins Gavin Stubblefield 0:29 seconds in the first period.

Up next at 285, Levi Landau pins Braden Route in 1:05.

Then the Mounties double up – at the 107 weight class Bodhi Nickerson pins Carson Castle just before the first buzzer.

Next, Canton ties with a forfeit at 114 before claiming another pin. At 121 Levi Vermilya pins Aivan Whittaker at 3:11 into the second round.

At 127 Bryce Pequignot defeats Lyle Vermilya by decision, 13-7.

Then at 133, after the third round buzzer Ethan Brasington takes down Hoyt Pequignot by decision, 12-6.

At 139 the Mounties take another win as Brayden Pequignot pins Carson Tillotson in just under a minute.

Canton fights back. At 145 as Manuel Halbfoerster defeats Brady Bower by technical fall – gaining the lead in overall scoring for the Warriors.

At 152, Tommy Preston pins Terrell Rinebold in 53 seconds.

The Mounties win next at 160 as Riley Oaks takes Carson Rockwell to decision, 11-6.

At 172 Canton’s Blane Wesneski pins Cameron Caldwell in the second round at 3:02.

The Mounties close out with a forfeit win, but it wouldn’t be enough to tip the scales as the Warriors claim the night, 38-30.

The Warriors will be on the road tonight at Cowanesque Valley, while the Mounties travel to Wellsboro on Thursday.
