The Canton Warriors delivered a dominant performance Friday night, September 11, shutting out the visiting Wyalusing Rams, 41-0.

Canton wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, as Bailey Gardner took the opening kickoff and found the sideline before breaking through several tackles for a touchdown. The Warriors took a 7-0 lead just seconds into the game.

With 51 seconds remaining in the first quarter, Canton struck again. Owen Moore dropped back to pass and connected with Gardner on a screen pass, with Gardner following his blockers into the end zone to extend the lead to 13-0.

Early in the second quarter, Moore added a touchdown of his own. After a successful Warrior drive, Moore rolled to the right, scrambled toward the goal line and flipped over the line for the score, putting Canton ahead 19-0.

Following the ensuing kickoff, the Rams attempted to make something happen, but Brooks Wesneski came up with a key turnover for the Warriors.

Canton quickly capitalized on the takeaway. Moore took to the air and found Rylan Wesneski for a touchdown, sending the Warriors into halftime with a commanding 27-0 advantage.

The Warriors continued to control the game in the second half, scoring twice more – once in the third quarter and again in the fourth.

Moore continued to find success through the air, connecting with Rylan Wesneski for another big touchdown as Canton continued to attack the Wyalusing secondary.

Later in the fourth quarter, Liam Rathbun provided another big play for the Warriors, picking up a huge gain and coming just inches short of the goal line.

Canton finished the job on the next play, as Jaiden Ortiz took the handoff and punched it into the end zone to cap the scoring at 41-0.

With the shutout victory, the Warriors move on to a highly anticipated matchup next Friday, September 18, when they host the Wellsboro Hornets.
