Canton Celebrates National FFA Week
FFA Week was celebrated all across the nation from February 21st to February 28th. It is a week that allows FFA members to celebrate their accomplishments and honors the impact of the organization all across the nation. The Canton FFA has a tradition of ending the week with a pep assembly that entertains students and teachers alike, and this year was no different. The assembly, led by the Canton FFA members, started off with a corn-eating contest. The fun continued with lassoing a bull on wooden horses, musical chairs, hay bale toss, sack race, and a new addition to this year’s activities, the bubble game.
The assembly is only a small glimpse into everything that the Canton FFA has facilitated and achieved throughout the week. They have been holding a contest for collecting non-perishable items for the Ronald McDonald House; whichever homeroom brings in the most items wins a donut party. Additionally, over the weekend, both Canton and Troy FFA chapters attended ACES (Agricultural Cooperation Establishes Success), a leadership conference held in Harrisburg.
The FFA organization continues to offer exciting opportunities for members all across the United States, and FFA Week is a great opportunity for students to learn, grow, and recognize success.
