Canton Band and Chorus Perform at Knoebels for Music Advocacy Day
Knoebels Amusement Resort hosted Canton’s Junior and Senior High band and chorus ensembles on Sunday, May 17th for Music Advocacy Day. The students performed pieces in the park’s band shell, allowing them to showcase their talent to supportive park goers.
Grace Call, choir director at Canton High School, explained, “Music Advocacy Day is hosted here by our PMEA, which is Pennsylvania Music Educators Association district 8, so these are all the people that we go to festivals with, and it’s a chance for us to meet up within this radius at a non-formal setting, and get to share what we’re doing in our own schools outside of these festivals that our students are going to, so it gives us a chance to see each other, get to see what’s happening in our day-to-day classrooms, and what we performed on our concerts and show that to the larger public.”
Thank you to all who came out to support not only Music Advocacy Day, but the talented student performers.
