Canton Area Experiencing Bus Driver Shortage

by Tanya Route - January 28, 2022

Across the state and in many sectors of employment there are shortages of workers, but what if we run out of bus drivers? Some schools across the state have had to go remote simply due to lack of bus drivers for students. Today, we highlight the essential job that is driving kids to school on a bus. I met with Mark McMurray, owner and operator of McMurray Transportation in Canton PA. We talked about his 40 years of bus driving experience, why the shortage of bus drivers is happening and what it takes to become a bus driver. If you have your CDL and are interested in learning about becoming a bus driver please feel free to contact Mark McMurray 570-582-6207 or Alicia Jennings 570-419-1980.
