Can we love God and not love his word?

by Pastor Mike Birbeck - July 25, 2022

The Psalmist said, “Deal bountifully with your servant, that I may live and keep your word. Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law.” (Psalm 119:17-18)

According to the Word itself, to say we love God but not his Word would not only be a contradiction but duplicitous. Countless times the authors of Scripture esteem, treasure, and accept those portions of God’s Word which were written down before them as God speaking.

This video takes us through a few of those passages, including one where many were offended by Jesus’ “word” and walked away. It ends with the sobering reality of what happens when we divorce our love of God from a love for his Word.
