Campus Ministry Supports MU Students And Connects With Community

by Deb Bastian - March 18, 2022

The Mansfield University Campus Prayer Room in Memorial Hall is a peaceful and welcoming place on campus for students of any religion to pray or visit with others. It is in this room that I talked with the Campus Minister, Mara Wilcox.

Mara has a special and personal connection to her position. Before she was Campus Minister, her Aunt, Rev. Deb Casey served in the position for 25 years. Today, she gets to bring her own energy, excitement and love for the Lord to the campus.

Mara explains in our visit that the program is supported by local churches and Mansfield University. She said that she believes it is very important for students to connect with the people of Mansfield when they are far from their homes. How can we support MU students and the Campus Ministry? Mara’s reply, “through prayer and cookies!”
