Brrr! Stay Safe from the Cold!
Brrrrrrrr! It sure is cold outside! Many of us dread going out in the cold weather. Fortunately, in today’s feature we have some wonderful tips about caring for your skin in these cold winter months. Morgan Koziar spoke with Luanne Goodwin (owner of Luanne’s Styling Salon and Facial Spa) about the importance of protecting our skin from the cold winter chill.
To put matters into perspective – a temperature of 0°F with a wind chill temperature of -19°F can cause frost bite in just 30 minutes. With the dropping temperatures, it’s crucial to protect your skin (the largest organ of the body – yes, your skin is an organ) from the harsh and bitter winds and potentially damaging rays of the sun. Many children walk to school or a bus stop – this is why it is so important to take precautions in protecting our skin. Most of us know that sun block is important in the summer, but did you know that sun block can play a significant role in the winter? This is because the harmful UV rays of the sun can reflect off of the snow. Skiers should be extra cautious in protecting their faces from these harmful rays.
In today’s video feature above, Morgan bundles up in some of the colorful scarves at The Fifth Season – with the help of sales associate, Lydia Dizon. There are a myriad of stylish looks to try – you never have go without a scarf! Thank you for warming up with us today and stay safe this winter!
