Bradford, Sullivan, and Tioga Students Enjoy Heritage Village Farm Day
The Troy Heritage Village and Farm Museum hosted their annual Farm Days this past Tuesday and Wednesday, May 13th and 14th. This daylong presentation allows area fourth grade students to experience the year 1866 after reading “Farmer Boy” by Laura Ingalls Wilder. The book came to life for students with over forty demonstrations and presentations, including butter churning, threshing, spinning wool, milking Bessie the cow, blacksmithing, maple sugaring, and many other hands-on activities that showcase the daily lives of individuals from the time.
This event was free of charge to all who attended thanks to the Bradford County United Way, local organizations and businesses, and private individuals.
The Bradford County Heritage Association’s mission is to preserve their agricultural heritage and to educate.
