Boston Marathon Runner Returns!

From boro to Boston, local runner inspires healthy lifestyle changes!

by Tim Morey - April 28, 2015

From Wellsboro to Boston and back here with us today is Ted Sneshkoff, local runner, (and as of Monday April 20th) – Boston Marathon Finisher! Many cold days (and nights) he trained through this bitter snowy winter. You might think someone who ran over 26 miles to complete a marathon would have always been into running, but this isn’t the case with Ted. He made the choice to begin this healthier and more active lifestyle back in 2010 and has finished several marathons already, leads group runs, and who knows what’s next?

Come congratulate Ted in front of Wild Asaph Outfitters during the First Friday event on May 1st. He might even invite you to run beside him on the dual treadmills he plans to setup for a little bit of fun! He’ll be running for the entire three hours of the event. This will be a great opportunity to find out more about what it took for him to run a marathon, and maybe take away a little inspiration!

Ted will be leading a Couch-to-5K program this summer. Let him (or any other member of the Tyoga Running Club) know if you are interested in making your own life change in the upcoming months. The series will culminate in at the 5K run/walk event at Hills Creek State Park in September, so you have plenty of time even if you wouldn’t dream of running a few miles now.

Looking for more of a workout? Join other running club members on Thursday nights for the weekly club run. The club posts these runs on their Facebook page each week and a variety of different runners show up. There is a faster group and one that is, well, not as fast. To join, you should be able to run for 30 to 40 minutes non-stop, even if the pace is slow. That’s fine and what the club is all about. They want to see more runners out there. The club’s growing quickly as running (and related trail running) seems to really be taking off in our area.

www.tyogarunningclub.com will help connect you to the local running club (as will their Facebook page) where some of these events are posted.
