Borough Council Meeting Highlights

by Andrew Moore - September 15, 2020

On Monday, September 14 the Wellsboro Borough Council met to discuss agenda items and pass motions, including the swearing in of a new junior borough council member.

Hayne Webster was appointed and sworn in by Wellsboro Mayor, John Wheeler.

Chief of Police Jim Bodine gave a police report, addressing an issue regarding the usage of bicycles on Main Street sidewalks.

The Community-Wide Yardsale will still be taking place on October 16th & 17th. Residents are reminded that they do not need a permit for this weekend. Fall Clean-Up will be held on the week of October 19 at regularly scheduled pick-up days.

Due to safety concerns, the Borough Council decided to cancel the Halloween parade this year. However, Trick-or-Treating will continue as usual. If residents do not wish to participate, they are asked to leave porch lights turned off.

Borough council meetings are open to the public and are held on the second Monday of every month at 5:00pm.
