BLOCK PARTY For Child Abuse Prevention & Foster Care Awareness, May 21
April was Child Abuse Prevention month, while May is Foster Care Awareness month. Because of the uncertainty of April weather this year, the Tioga County Department of Human Services, in partnership with SAM Inc, have decided to host a special event on May 21 to bring awareness to both causes.
From 11am to 2pm on May 21 both organizations are inviting the community to congregate on The Green in Wellsboro for a block party.
“There’s going to be free food, free activities for kids to do, music from KC101, lots of inflatables for kids to participate in, and it’s going to be all free of charge,” said Jessica Gordon, an ongoing caseworker for SAM, Inc.
Both organizations are hoping the free event will bring awareness to child abuse prevention and foster care needs in the county.
