Big First Half Leads Panthers Past CMVT

A 34-point first half led the North Penn-Mansfield Panthers to a 41-0 win over CMVT on Saturday, October 23.

Kohen Lehman scored 5 touchdowns in the game to lead the Panthers while Cameron Fabian scored the other Panther touchdown.

Lehman opened the flood gates in the first quarter by making two interceptions on defense and returning both for touchdowns, one from 37 yards out and the other from 51 yards away, to put the Panthers up 14-0.

In the second quarter Lehman scored twice more, this time on the offensive side of the ball. With 10:48 to play he rushed in from a yard out to to make it 20-0, then with 34 seconds left in the half he struck again from 58 yards away. Fabian’s touchdown, a 82-yard punt return, came in between Lehman’s pair of runs with exactly 9 minutes left on the clock.

At the half the Panthers led 34-0.

North Penn scored once more on the afternoon. Again, Lehman hit paydirt, from 35 yards out, to push the final score to 41-0.

Lehman finished with 112 yards on just six carries to lead the Panthers’ ground attack. Karson Dominick finished 10-of-14 for 87 yards through the air, while Sammy Lawrence led the receiving corps with 4 catches for 49 yards. Defensively, Gaven Sexauer recorded 17 tackles and Lawrence added an interception return for 9 yards.

This Friday the Panthers (5-4, 3-3 NTL Large School Division) will host rival Wellsboro at 7:00 pm in their annual meeting of the Morton F. Jones Trophy.
