Be a Big Brother, Big Sister

Meaningful 1-to-1 mentoring relationships to youth in Tioga County

 

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - October 9, 2018

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Twin Tiers, an organization providing meaningful 1-to-1 mentoring relationships to youth in Tioga County, is excited to announce its new, modernized brand. Big Brothers Big Sisters has always seen incredible potential in every child, and this new branding emphasizes how everyone in the community, from parents and guardians to prospective volunteers, donors and supporters, can help defend the potential inherent in our country’s youth and help them achieve their biggest possible futures. The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Twin Tiers is not changing, because the need in our community is more urgent than ever.

The new branding allows Big Brothers Big Sisters to grow and evolve in order to meet the need in in Tioga County by recruiting more volunteers and creating more one-to-one mentorship relationships. Since 2014, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Twin Tiers in Tioga County has grown to nearly 20 active Community-Based matches, School-Based programs in all 3 school-districts, and a Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentoring club through Mansfield University.

Big Brothers Big Sisters believes this is just the start of the potential impact this mentoring organization can have on youth in Tioga County. Having a Big Brother or Big Sister mentor can make a BIG difference in the life of a young person; from reducing drug and alcohol abuse rates in youth, to increasing academic success and school attendance, mentorship is truly changing the lives of young people in Tioga County.
