Back to Basics – Does God Exist?

by Mike White - October 29, 2019

Everything you see and cannot see – from an amoeba on the back of a flea, to Mount Everest, to a distant galaxy containing billions of stars, everything you see when you look up at night and everything beyond that – God made it.

What I find so crazy is that anyone can look at the universe and think everything came from nothing.

Imagine if you had a box that contained nothing – not even air molecules. Something will never spontaneously came out of nothing. You could repeat this experiment trillions and trillions of
times over the course of trillions of years – and something would never emerge from nothing.

We’re not talking about probability – if you rolled a dice an infinite number of times there’s a chance you could land on the same number a million times in a row – it’s not probable
but it is possible. But when we speak of the creation of the universe, it’s impossible for that to happen by chance. When there was nothing, there was no dice to roll. Chance doesn’t have
causal power.

We can’t even imagine what nothing is, because the moment you try to think of nothing, you begin to think of
something!

Nothing can’t produce something, let alone everything. The fact that anything exists at all is a miracle!

So we must recognize that God is behind that miracle. He made the oceans, the animals, he made the duck billed platypus – I wonder what was he thinking when he made that? He must have had a smile on his face. But he took the most joy in making you – in His love. He created every part of you.
