Back to Basics – Choosing Good Friends

by John Vogt - October 2, 2015

Today on Wellsboro Home Page we feature the latest edition of Back to Basics. Back to Basics is a monthly inspirational/devotional feature designed to encourage our hearts and strengthen our faith. This broadcast is also helpful for pointing us the right direction and helping us to make good life decisions.

On today’s feature Pastor Mike White talks with us about the importance of good friendships. This is an extremely important topic to consider. It can make the difference between experiencing a life of love, joy, true peace and happiness verses a life of emptiness, anger, frustration and sadness.

Here’s a question for you. Who are the people you spend time with on a regular basis? Now that you have them in your mind… who are they really? What kind of people are they? What do they stand for? What do they like to do? Do they tend to encourage you? Does it make you a better person to be in their presence? Do they lift you up or pull you down?

Now, you may say they love you and would do anything for you – and that may be true. But, what direction are they pulling you? Are they influencing you rightly? Are they helping you succeed in the things that truly matter in life or are they holding you back from becoming all that you could be?

We hope that you will take a few short moments to watch today’s feature. Then, take some time to think about who you have chosen to be your friends and what it’s doing to you. If needed, have the wisdom and courage to make changes. Remember, the one who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.
