“Who can take a sunrise, sprinkle it with dew, cover it in chocolate and a miracle or two?” The candy man, and the cast of “Willy Wonka Jr.”

This year’s Hamilton Gibson winter camp, started rehearsing for “Willy Wonka Jr” on January 2 at the Blossburg Elementary School. The winter camp is open to students in grades 3-9. The students learn vocabulary specific to the theater, stage directions, team work, and public speaking in a fun atmosphere. Thomas Putnam and his many volunteers work with the children singing, dancing, creating costumes and sets all in just 9 rehearsals!

The students will take you on a tour with your favorite characters; Veruca Salt, Augustus Gloop, Violet Beauregarde, Mike Teavee, and of course Charlie Bucket, through Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory. While they remind us of some important morals such as the consequences over eating, the value of good manners, and honesty.

Come sing along to your favorite songs on Friday January 12th and Saturday January 13th, at 7:30 in the Blossburg school auditorium.

The second winter theater arts camp will be held in Elkland from January 17 – February 3, with public performances on February 2nd and 3rd at 7:30 in the Elkland school auditorium. All performances are “pay what you can.”
