A Weekend Road-trip to the Sugar Shacks!

by Andrew Moore - March 21, 2014

“DID YOU KNOW that Pennsylvania’s BEST Maple Products Come from Potter and Tioga Counties? Products from these two counties have ranked as the top three in all Maple categories for the past twenty years at the Annual Pennsylvania Farm Show!” – PAmaple.com.

This weekend is the 10th Annual Maple Weekend for both Tioga and Potter Counties. This “traveling festival” is a tribute to all things maple. Maple producers all over Tioga and Potter counties will be demonstrating tree tapping, sugar boiling, and more! You can pick up a map for this sweet adventure at the Wellsboro area Chamber of Commerce. This map provides a great layout for a maple-infused road-trip! On this adventure you can enjoy pancake stops, maple candy, maple butter, maple nuts, maple cotton-candy and more! But have you ever wondered what goes into making all these amazing treats?

Dale Miller of Miller’s Purely Maple gave us a tour of his sugar shack and shared with us the hard work and sweet rewards of being a maple producer. You can find out more about Miller’s Purely Maple at millersmaple.com! For more information on Maple Weekend, visit PAmaple.com.
