A Summer of Concessions
Summer has finally arrived and if you are like most of us, you dread cooking dinner in an already hot kitchen. Jump in the car and head to Hills Creek. The Hills Creek concession stand and camp store is ready to serve one or a whole crowd. They have something for everyone including hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken tenders, fries, subs, cheese steak and pizza by the slice or a whole pie, and don’t forget the ice cream for dessert! You can cool off in the lake while Tammy and her staff do all of the work. Swimming isn’t your thing? That’s alright, you can rent a kayak or canoe or borrow a fishing rod through the Fishing Rod Loan Program and relax, or take a scenic hike around the lake. Campers, did you forget to pack the ketchup? Don’t worry, the camp store has it along with firewood, ice, bait, and many other essentials. Don’t feel like leaving the campsite? Give the campstore a call and they will deliver dinner right to your site. Specials are offered on weekends. The staff is considering renting bicycles in the future.
The camp store is also sponsoring special events such as volleyball tournaments, on August 3rd there will be a cornhole tournament ($5/ person donation). More information about the cornhole tournament can be obtained by calling the concession stand/ camp store at 570-724-4515. Evening programs are offered at the interpretive center also. The evening program schedule can be obtained through the park office or by calling (570)724-4246.
This is Tammy’s first year as concessionaire. Please stop in and say hello. She welcomes suggestions from the community on how to serve you better.
The store is open daily 11 am – 7 pm.
Tammy has noted she would like to thank Ben Stone (park manager) and staff for being so helpful/ instrumental in helping her get started.
