A Star Spangled First Friday!

by Lauren Gooch - July 6, 2017

Join us this Friday, July 7th, for a “Star Spangled First Friday” from 5:00PM-8:00PM!

Pop’s Culture Shoppe will be featuring two patriotic games: Timeline: American History and Hanabi. There will also be discounts, music, and free game night fun!

Penn Wells will be featuring a Happy Hour with special drinks, deserts, and other treats from 4:00PM-7:00PM!

Dunham’s Department Store will allow kids to create their own artwork and then display their creations in the store’s window. The first 50 people will get a free prize!

Johnny’s Hot Rod Café will be featuring their American Hot Rod Burrito, Bacon Queso Hot Dogs, and star sugar cookies for dessert!

Peggy’s Candies and Gifts is hosting a Peter Pan themed First Friday with Pixie Dust fudge, Lost Boy milkshakes, and Rootbeer floats. They will also be having a treasure hunt around Wellsboro. If you find one of their painted rocks, bring it in to Peggy’s for a reward! There will also be a special guest from “From the Farm” with soaps, lotions, and other products. She will even have one of her baby goats for children to see!

At The Fifth Season, children can make a “Star-Spangled Wand.” There will be light refreshments for all, and seasonal clothing is tagged 15% to 50% off as part of their Sizzling Summer Savings sale!

Grubby’s Games will be doing two events:
1st: For young kids, they will be offering the ability to color a flag outside of the store.
2nd: For adults, teens, and older kids, they will be offering a chance to pull a prize out of a bowl by participating in playing Street Fighter 2 for the Super Nintendo. All you will have to do is play against a Grubby’s Games employee; winning is not a requirement to get a chance at a prize. The top prize is a Retron 1. The Retron 1 is a game system that plays all of your favorite NES games.
*1 chance at pulling a prize per person.
In My Shoes will be celebrating summer by giving $10 off summer shoes!

Wild Asaph Outfitters will be having the Katiebugs Relay for Life team outside the store, where kids can play homemade carnival games for a 50 cent donation. 5% of all sales during First Friday hours will be donated to the American Cancer Society through the Tioga County Relay for Life, which will take place on July 8th on the Green.

Senior’s Creations will have an ice cream social with cake as well as free tasting samples of their olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette.

Timeless Destination will have a delicious special featuring Walleye!

CS Sports will be offering a surprise discount for anyone wearing red, white and blue this First Friday!

Subway will have a Firecracker Special which is 50 cents off a 6-inch buffalo chicken sub, or $1 off a footlong.

The Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest will be in front of Garrisons Men’s Shop.

Stained Glass Reflections will have acoustic music out front, along with local potter, James States, who will be helping kids make their own pottery and selling some of his own finished pieces.

The Steak House has a special where kids (with an adult) eat free on every First Friday this year.

Tioga Country Commissioner, Roger Bunn, will be handing out free hot dogs with all the trimmings as a special treat this First Friday!
