A Life-Changing Game
On Saturday, March 16 – come see students face-off against faculty from the Wellsboro Area School District in the 8th Annual Casey L. Patrick Memorial Basketball Game.
Casey was a 2010 Wellsboro High School graduate who passed away in 2011 at the age of 19. She was diagnosed with a rare congenital heart condition known as Eisenmenger’s Syndrome. For the past eight years, Casey’s brother, Drew, has started memorial basketball games in his sister’s honor. Casey loved basketball and dreamed of becoming a teacher. Inspired by these pursuits, all proceeds from the games’ admission and donations go to the Casey L. Patrick Memorial Scholarship fund (for a student pursuing a teaching career) and assist the school’s basketball team.
Along with the game, there will be a Chinese auction (including prize baskets), a 50-50 foul shot competition, a bake sale! The proceeds from the 50-50 raffle will benefit local non-profit, the Humble Bumble Project, which seeks to alleviate financial burden faced by pediatric and young adult cancer families.
Price of admission is $4 for adults – kids under 5 are free. The game will take place at 7:00PM in the Wellsboro High School gymnasium.
